Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder associated with menstrual irregularities, hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance, and an increased risk of metabolic complications. From an Ayurvedic perspective, PCOS may be explored through concepts such as Dosha imbalance, impaired Agni, and disturbances in metabolic function. Traditional approaches may include individualized dietary recommendations, physical activity, stress management, and selected herbal preparations. However, evidence supporting Ayurvedic interventions for PCOS remains limited, and their safety, effectiveness, and potential interactions require careful evaluation. Integrating appropriate traditional practices with evidence-based assessment and management can help address metabolic risk factors, support symptom control, and promote long-term reproductive and metabolic health.
